Puzzles.

For Ruby's birthday, we got her a wooden animal puzzle that she just loves.  She has come a long ways from chewing on them and banging them on the floor.  She can sit here for hours and play with them...and she knows just what to do with them.

It's times like these that I wish I could just hear her thoughts.  She concentrates so hard, knows when to flip the piece around and how to scoot in right into place.  And when she's done, she has such a look of pride and satisfaction.  I am amazed by this sweet girl of mine every single day.  It's not like putting together a puzzle is something you can really teach a baby toddler-she has learned by watching.
